National Museum of American History

This discussion of the upcoming Washington National Opera production of Porgy and Bess takes the historical long view of Gershwin’s groundbreaking work. Participants include conductor John Mauceri, assistant artistic director Rita D’ Angelo Tikador, and Dwight Bowers, curator of music at the National Museum of American History. Eric Owens (Porgy), Morenike Fadayomi (Bess), and Jermaine Smith (Sportin' Life) will perform highlights from the opera.

This event is FREE and open to the public.

The event will take place in the Carmichael Auditorium at the National Museum of American History, 14th Street and Constitution Avenue, N.W., in Washington, D.C.
